Bound

“Though her soul requires seeing, the culture around her requires sightlessness. Though her soul wishes to speak its truth, she is pressured to be silent.”
― Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype

Okay this is a dark one. No red umbrellas. No birds carrying away the weights or chains. No hope. Wait – light coming in from the left. That’s hope. There will always be a sliver of hope in these images for through my own journey through hell I had a tiny piece of hope in my pocket – always. If not I would not be here typing these words.

Like most artists I don’t often share why this was created. Artists have different reasons but for me I want these images to help heal others. I don’t want to put my story into yours but to free you to embrace your story in a different form. It is my purpose now to help others and show that there is always hope. I do not have the capabilities at this point in my journey to sit in a therapist chair (although I’m a great listener to those who visit the she shed) and give great wisdom (like my amazing therapist Allison) to those on their journey but I do have the ability to put an image to a feeling or emotion. So now I create to heal others while healing myself. It is often difficult to put these words and images out into the world but when I stop doing so I stop healing. So maybe this is a bit selfish. However we need to be selfish at times to preserve our sanity. Enough about me.

What do you see? Does this make something in you click? If you feel a tear or two, sister let them flow. We are all or have been bound at one point in our lives. Wild woman it’s time to break free of whatever it is the binds you, quiets you and keeps you from becoming authentic and beautiful you! How do you heal you? A
